What is Leaky Gut Syndrome?

Typically resulting from SIBO (small intestinal bowel overgrowth), Leaky gut syndrome is an abnormal or disruption in the  balance of healthy gut flora that results in damage to the intestinal lining, permitting “seepage” or permeability of contaminants to pass into the bloodstream.  As a result, bacteria, undigested food particles,  and other toxins enter the blood stream which can lead to an auto-immune reaction and/or inflammation throughout the body.
