WHAT IS SPINAL DECOMPRESSION?

Spinal decompression is a series of exercises, spinal mobilization techniques, and rehabilitation procedures designed to retrain neuromuscular control of the spine and posture. Spinal decompression patients will also be taught techniques to use at home for more extensive, self-rehabilitation.

Nevy Health uses the state of the art DOC decompression tables at our location in Mesa. The DOC is integral to effective treatment. The DOC combines the force of gravity with vibration to exercise the heart muscle along with rehabilitating the spine.

HOW DOES DECOMPRESSION WORK?

The negative pressure may induce the retraction of the herniated or bulging disc into the inside of the disc, and off the nerve root, the cal sac, or both. It happens only microscopically each time, but cumulatively, over four to six weeks, the results can be quite dramatic.

The cycles of decompression and partial relaxation, over a series of visits, promote the diffusion of water, oxygen, and nutrient-rich fluids from the outside of the discs to the inside. These nutrients enable the torn and degenerated disc fibers to begin to heal.
